An experienced, senior communications adviser, he has provided strategic counsel to HSBC on its global sustainability agenda. He has also advised clients including Virgin, Chanel, Burberry, Etihad Airways, Repsol, National Grid, CVC and LafargeHolcim on their ESG reporting and content. Recently he helped the UK Government structure and execute its first green bond and has advised several governments across the world.
Before starting his career with the bank, he advised the UK government on its pension and social care strategy as well as on how to reach consumer media. Ryan also spent more than 10 years on national newspapers as an award-wining journalist. He uses this experience to help build key media relationships to both promote brands and protect reputations.
